Doctor Joel Sugg jr

Dr. Joe Sugg, Jr. is a seasoned ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience, specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus treatment at Southern Eye Group.

A native of Dothan, Alabama, Dr. Sugg earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in general ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and pursued further specialization through a fellowship focused on pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.

Dr. Sugg has been married to his wife, Susie, for 30 years and they are the proud parents of three grown children and grandparents of four grandchildren. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking and hunting.

Dr. Sugg practices out of our offices in Daphne, Midtown Mobile and West Mobile.
