Robert Hamilton, O.D.

Robert Hamilton, O.D., is an optometrist with three decades of experience in comprehensive eye exams, ocular disease management, and contact lens fittings. A Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry with NBEO certification, he cares for patients in Mobile, Alabama, and across the Gulf Coast. Dr. Hamilton takes time to explain what he finds during each exam so patients can make confident decisions about their eye health.

Dr. Hamilton began his career as a partner at Professional Eyecare Associates in Huntingburg, Indiana. In 2003, he joined RiverPark EyeCare in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he served as managing partner. Dr. Hamilton has performed over 1,000 laser procedures, including YAG capsulotomy, YAG iridotomy, and selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). These treatments address cloudy vision after cataract surgery and help manage eye pressure in certain types of glaucoma. He is certified by the Kentucky Optometry Board in anterior segment laser therapy and minor surgical procedures and is licensed in Alabama, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Outside the office, Dr. Hamilton provides free vision screenings for local Owensboro students and has conducted eye exams on a church mission trip to Guatemala. As a commercial pilot and certified flight instructor, he also volunteers his aviation skills to fly medical transport missions for Lifeline Pilots and animal rescue flights for Pilots N Paws.
