Dr. Zackary Elkins is a skilled optometrist dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to patients of all ages. A native of Leeds, Alabama, Dr. Elkins earned his bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology from Huntingdon College, where he excelled as a scholarship football player. He then pursued his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, gaining advanced training in primary and pediatric eye care, ocular diseases, and specialty scleral lens fittings.

Dr. Elkins is passionate about managing conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and anterior segment abnormalities. He also specializes in fitting scleral lenses, offering solutions for patients with keratoconus, dry eye disorder, and other corneal diseases. His approach to optometry combines clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.

Outside of the office, Dr. Elkins enjoys spending time with his wife, Haley, and their two children. He is an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football and basketball and the Green Bay Packers. When he isn’t cheering on his favorite teams, he loves fishing and attending sporting events with friends.
